OOPS- Major Food Chain Spanked by Interior Design Oversight

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2010/aug/1/chipotle-in-violation-of-disabilities-act/

Such a small detail yet such big implications.

We do not know if it was an interior designer or an architect that made the fateful decision to design a serving counter at 47″ A.F.F. (that’s above finished floor for all of you clueless angry decorators) but this is a prime example of the importance of knowing codes and regulations as they apply to even the most mundane interior element.  Chipotle hires only the best. The architecture and interiors of their stores is legendary. Even the best trained can mess up. So to claim that an accredited education does not have to be an integral component of  a professional interior designer’s career path is just ludicrous at best.
