INTERIOR DESIGN OR INTERIOR DESIGN?
Or “A Tale of Two Professions” One of which has nice fingernails and one that understands the International Building Code And we wonder why our policy makers are confused………… Sure this is just one misguided policy maker but he is standing on the floor of the capitol building in Springfield, Illinois and he has a…

THE IMPORTANCE OF SELF-REGULATION & THE DECORATOR vs. DESIGNER TITLE MATCH
I have spent a lot of bytes on this blog pointing out the drawbacks of relying on Uncle Sam to validate our professional status via title and practice legislation. Unfortunately we tend to lump our decorator vs. designer identity crisis in with the massive effort to gain regulation that codifies our right to work in…

Second, not much has been happening on the Interior Design identity front-good or bad. Third, I am tired of posting the same old…

Utah Senate Bill 0117 which allows state certified Commercial Interior Designers to submit signed and sealed drawings (within limited scope) in order to obtain building permits in that state was approved today. Yay! This is the first substantial piece of ID legislation to be approved in several years. Kudos to IDEAL Utah and their lobbyist…
